Suggested Itinerary : One Day in Florence, Italy

Travel trip: You may want to get Firenze Card depending on your plan. It costs 72 euros which is valid for 72 hours, starting from your first entrance into any museum included in the card. However, each museum can only be visited ONCE during the 72 hours. I was in Florence for less than 48 hours but I think it was worth the price since I didn’t have to make reservations online and I didn’t have to line up as well. I’ve got mine at the Piazza Stazione 4 which was only about a minute walk from Firenze Santa Maria Novella railway station. You can also get free unlimited wife access provided by the city while your card is active and travel for free on ATAF/Linea bus lines and tram!

Places of Interest:
  1. Piazzale Michelangelo
  2. San Miniate al Monte
  3. Ponte Vecchio
Suggested Itinerary:
  1. Michelangelo’s David at Accademia. I skipped the line at the museum since I was holding a Firenze card. However if you didn’t have one, you have to reserve the earliest ticket possible.
  2. Admire Ghiberti's Gates of Paradise on the baptistery (Battistero di San Giovanni) in front of the Duomo.
  3. Give yourself some time to make it up to the top of Brunelleschi's dome.
  4. Visit Santa Croce to pay respect to the famous Italians such as Michelangelo and Galileo.
  5. Eat gelato!
  6. Visit Uffizi to examine some of the greatest art Italy has to offer.
  7. Piazza della Signoria
  8. Palazzo Vecchio
  9. Admire the magnificent view of Florence from Piazzale Michelangelo.

Happy travels. You may want to check the hotel where I stayed at here!
